The Latest News:

Adobe’s free Content Authenticity Web App

Adobe has launched a free web app called Adobe Content Authenticity, which helps creators easily attach Content Credentials to their digital work. These credentials act like a "signature," ensuring proper attribution and making it easier to trace content back to its original creator. The app allows creators to batch-add verified details, like their name and social media links, to their files.

It also gives users some control over how their content is used for AI training. Adobe is working with Spawning, an AI opt-out aggregator, to ensure opt-out preferences are recognized, although this limits some Adobe Stock and Firefly features.

To improve transparency, Adobe is releasing a Chrome extension to help users view and interact with Content Credentials online. The app, will be in public beta early next year and according to Adobe it will be free.

Canon Addresses Increasing Thermal Demands

cc: Canon

As cameras get better at shooting high-res, high-bitrate video, they also get hotter—literally. Canon is trying to tackle this with a new patent for a compact cooling system to keep things from overheating. The patent describes a setup with ducts and fans that bring in cool air and push it over hot parts, without getting in the way of how you hold the camera.

Canon has done this kind of cooling before, like with the R5C and the upcoming R5 II, but this shows they’re still working on ways to handle heat in future cameras. While we don't know when this tech will hit the market, it's clear Canon is serious about keeping their cameras cool, especially as video features get more intense.

TTArtisan’s ‘Film Canister’ Light Got an Upgrade

cc: TTArtisan

TTArtisan has updated its cute film canister-inspired LED light to include full RGB color. The new version, called the Mini RGB LED Light, now lets you cycle through the full RGB spectrum (400-750nm), giving it more flexibility.

It’s small, affordable, and can be attached to a camera via a magnetic hot shoe or hung on a lanyard. The light cycles through colors by pressing and holding the control button, but it doesn’t seem to allow for precise adjustments of individual RGB channels.

The design, brightness (250 lumens), and battery life (80-160 minutes) are the same as before. It's not super bright, but its compact size makes it a fun little gadget for casual use, like selfies or low-light portraits. Its range is about 3 meters.

More of a stylish accessory than a serious lighting tool, the RGB Mini LED is priced at $10.90
