Viltrox Teases New Lens

Viltrox just teased a new addition to its Air Series APS-C lenses, set to launch on February 28. These lenses are all about being lightweight, affordable, and perfect for entry-level and enthusiast photographers.

Right now, the Air Series includes the AF 35mm f/1.7 and AF 56mm f/1.7, covering roughly 50mm and 85mm full-frame equivalents. Based on a teaser image and a little internet sleuthing, it looks like Viltrox might be dropping a 25mm lens next—giving APS-C shooters a budget-friendly, 35mm-equivalent prime.

At just $179, the current Air lenses offer solid image quality, full autofocus support, and a compact design. If the rumours are right, this new lens could complete the Air Series "Trinity" and be a great everyday option for photographers who want quality glass without breaking the bank.

Range Camera App For Natural Looking Photos

credits: Range Camera

Photographer and app developer Drew Mylrea just dropped Range Camera, a new iPhone app. Unlike the default camera app, Range Camera skips Apple’s aggressive sharpening and HDR tricks, keeping things clean and real. It shoots in Bayer RAW or ProRAW (depending on your phone and lighting), so you get better details and colours.

The app also has a built-in editor (Range Darkroom), where you can tweak exposure, highlights, and colours. When you're done, it saves a small HEIC file and tosses the RAW into the trash (recoverable for 30 days), so your storage doesn’t blow up.

Mylrea describes the look as “Fujifilm point-and-shoot vibes”—richer colors, preserved highlights, and natural skin tones. The goal? A dead-simple, no-fuss app you’ll actually want to use. Range Camera is free to try (20 shots), then it's $1.99/month or $19.99/year.
