The Flashback ONE35 V2

credits: Flashback
Flashback, the Australian company known for its “non-disposable digital disposable cameras,” has launched the ONE35 V2, a refreshed version of the camera that first blew up on Kickstarter. Founders Kelrick Mullen and Mackenzie Salisbury say they rebuilt the new model from the ground up, now with a 13-megapixel sensor that gives better dynamic range and sharper results. The biggest change is a new Digicam Mode that lets you see your shots right away, unlike the original version that made you wait 24 hours to mimic shooting film. For those who actually liked that feature, Classic Mode is still there with its 27-shot limit and one-day delay.
The body looks pretty much the same, but Flashback added a few new finishes, including a soft coffee cream and two transparent editions in crystal orange and teal. The V2 also transfers photos faster over Wi-Fi and now supports USB-C or Lightning connections, so getting your shots to your phone or computer is much quicker. Owners of the original ONE35 aren’t being left behind either, the company is updating the first model with new exposure options, film-style colour filters inspired by Lomo turquoise and infrared film, vintage time stamps, and the same new Digicam Mode.
Like before, there is no screen, you will still need to open the Flashback Camera app to see what you have captured. The ONE35 V2 keeps its mechanical winder, direct optical viewfinder, and Xenon flash, all meant to make it feel more like a real film camera even though it is fully digital. The ONE35 V2 is available for pre-order at $119/90€.

PolarPro’s New Center Split Filter

credits: PolarPro
PolarPro released the Center Split Filter, a new effects filter designed to create a split-field look directly in-camera. The filter keeps the centre of the image sharp while softening and blooming highlights above and below, or to the sides, depending on orientation. Built with PolarPro’s Cinema Series glass and a durable metal housing, it features the same anti-reflective coatings used in the company’s ND and polarising filters. The goal is to offer photographers and filmmakers a practical way to achieve an optical effect that is difficult to replicate during post-production.
PolarPro says the Center Split Filter is best suited for stylised sequences, dreamlike imagery, and creative transitions. The effect varies depending on focal length, it is stronger and more pronounced at wider focal lengths like 35mm, and more subtle at longer ones such as 85mm. The company describes it as a niche, specialty filter meant to complement existing setups rather than replace everyday ND or diffusion filters.
The Center Split Filter is available in standard threaded sizes (49mm, 67mm, 77mm, and 82mm) with prices ranging from $79.99 to $99.99. A version compatible with PolarPro’s magnetic Helix MagLock system is priced at $149.99. The threaded versions are shipping now, and the MagLock model is scheduled to begin shipping next week.
