TTArtisan’s New Ultra Wide Prime Lens

credits: TTArtisan

TTArtisan has added a new ultra-wide option to its lineup with the 14mm f/2.8 ASPH, a fully manual prime built for full-frame cameras. Available in Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and L-mount, the lens delivers a 114° field of view, making it well-suited for landscapes, interiors, and architectural work. Thanks to its f/2.8 maximum aperture, it also opens the door for night photography and astrophotography.

The optical design includes 13 elements in 10 groups, with two aspherical elements tasked with keeping distortion and edge softness under control. Ultra-wide lenses are notorious for bending lines and losing detail in the corners, so the addition of dual ASPH elements should help ensure straighter rendering and stronger edge-to-edge sharpness. An eight-blade aperture also means the lens can produce crisp sunstars when stopped down.

On the physical side, the 14mm f/2.8 ASPH comes in a full-metal build made from 5052 aerospace-grade aluminum. Depending on the mount, the lens weighs between 437 and 445 grams and includes a clicked aperture ring. The minimum focusing distance is 0.2 meters and the lens accepts 77mm filters via a round holder, which is a nice touch since many ultra-wides don’t take standard filters. Pricing for this new lens, across all four mounts, is at $196.

The Godox AD400Pro II Flash

credits: Godox

Godox refreshed their mid-range portable strobe with the new AD400Pro II, slotting it between the pocketable AD200Pro II and the big AD600Pro II. On paper it’s still a 400Ws light, but this update brings faster response times, more flexibility for mixed photo/video work, and a few other updates.

Power is adjustable across 10 stops, from 1/512 to full, and the detachable 21.6V/2600mAh battery is rated for about 460 full-power pops. Recycle times are noticeably quicker than before, dipping as low as 0.01 seconds at lower outputs, and there’s now a Freeze Mode with flash durations as short as 1/27,770s (t0.1) for freezing high-speed motion. The built-in LED modeling lamp has also been upgraded: it’s 30W, colour temperature adjustable between 2800K–6000K, and has a high CRI/TLCI rating.

Wireless control continues through Godox’s 2.4 GHz X system with a 100-meter range, compatible with all the usual transmitters. A small but practical tweak is the new group indicator lights, which color-code up to 16 groups so complex setups are easier to manage at a glance. The body still weighs around 2kg and comes with the expected reflector, bag, charger, and battery. The flash comes in at $649.
