The Latest News:

Fujifilm Increased X100VI Production

credits: Fujifilm

The X100VI blew up when it launched last year, and even though Fujifilm planned ahead, demand still way overshot expectations. They’ve doubled production compared to the last model and are now making more than 15,000 units a month, but it’s still not enough to clear the backlog.

Part of the holdup? The camera is tricky to make, especially the sharp-edged top plate, so ramping up production isn’t as simple as just making more. In just one year, they’ve already shipped as many as previous models took three or four years to sell.

They get why people are frustrated about long wait times, but they’re asking customers to be patient rather than paying scalpers who are reselling the camera at inflated prices. So for now - hang in there tight.

Delkin’s New SD-Cards

credits: Delkin

Delkin just dropped its Black CFexpress Type B 4.0 memory cards, and they’re built for speed. Available in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB, these cards promise blazing-fast performance with write speeds never dropping below 400 MB/s.

They pack sustained write speeds up to 2,020 MB/s and burst write speeds up to 3,220 MB/s, though exact speeds vary by size. Read speeds? Up to 3,700 MB/s. The only catch? No cameras support CFexpress 4.0 yet, but they’ll still work great, especially for faster file transfers with a compatible reader.

These cards are build to last, they are shockproof, water-resistant, and X-ray proof. Prices start at $200 for 512GB, with 1TB at $400 and 2TB at $700.

Photo Analysis

Welcome to a new addition to the magazine: the photo analysis, where I will analyse a photo and talk about the composition, lighting what’s positive, what’s negative etc. so that you can learn and better your own photography from it ;)

Let’s Analyse this Image:

Composition

  • What works well:

    • The way the hills and the runner’s path naturally lead your eye toward the house on the hill is really well done.

    • The blurred foreground is a nice touch—it adds depth and makes you feel like you’re literally ‘‘peeking’’ into a moment rather than just looking at a flat image.

    • The layers are also beautifully done, with the grass in the foreground, then comes the person running, after that the house and lastly the landscape behind the house. It makes for a great 3D/depth effect.

  • What could be better:

    • Strictly composition wise there is not much negative to say. However one thing I noticed right from the start is that the top right feels a little too bright, which when you look at it long and ‘‘in depth’’ enough kid of trows off the balance of the image (so the right side feels a little to heavy/it slightly leads your eyes away from the person/the house (the main subjects)). So dialing it down a bit could help.

Lighting

  • What works well:

    • That soft light is magic. It gives the whole image a dreamy, almost cinematic feel.

    • The way the light falls on the grass adds a lot of texture and dimension, making everything look richer.

    • The haze in the background is a very nice touch—it softens the scene and makes it feel almost like something out of a fairytale. (that I like a lot)

  • What could be better:

    • The misty background is gorgeous, however it does make the distant hills lose some detail. A little more contrast could help separate the layers and add even more depth.

    • The sky is pretty blown out in the brightest spots. Bringing back a little detail there would make the exposure feel more balanced.

Color & Mood

  • What works well:

    • The mix of warm greens and golden light is just beautiful. It all works together to create this peaceful, inviting atmosphere.

    • The mist adds a nice touch of mystery.

  • What could be better:

    • Some would say that the areas in the foreground feel a tiny bit too dark (making it feel heavy). Lifting the shadows just a little would help even things out.

    • Slightly warming up the colors might push the golden-hour vibe even further, making it feel even cozier.

Story & Emotion

  • What works well:

    • The running person adds so much life to this shot. It makes you wonder—where are they going? What’s the rush? It turns a pretty landscape into a story. In my opinion the runner MAKES this picture (but also the framing of the grass, I actually like this a lot too)

    • The house on the hill makes it feel like there’s a destination, adding a sense of adventure or ‘‘longing for home’’.

  • What could be better:

    • If the runner’s silhouette were a bit more defined—maybe with a more exaggerated running pose—it could enhance the sense of movement even more. (however that is almost nit picking)
