A Free Lightroom Preset Extractor

credits: colorsuite app
Imagine spending over a decade perfecting your Lightroom presets, only to lose them all due to a corrupt catalog. That’s exactly what happened to Reddit user iusemydogshampoo, and after trying every recovery method out there—with no luck—he built his own solution: colorsuite app.
It’s simple to use—just drop a JPEG with Lightroom metadata into the site, and it extracts all the edits in a Lightroom-style interface. You can then save the settings as a new preset or LUT. And best of all? It’s completely free.
Beyond recovering lost presets, the tool also lets photographers analyse other edits to learn new colour grading techniques—though it also means people could potentially lift other photographers’ styles if metadata isn’t stripped before sharing. For those worried about privacy, the creator says everything runs in the browser, with no data being collected. They also plan to make the tool open source in the future.

The New Canon EOS R50 V

credits: Canon
Canon just dropped the EOS R50 V, a vlogging-friendly version of the R50. It ditches the viewfinder and built-in flashbut keeps the same 24MP APS-C sensor. The big updates? A front-facing record button, tally light, and a red border on-screen so you always know when you're recording.
It shoots 4K/60p (with a slight crop), 10-bit 422 video, and supports C-Log3 for more colour control. There's also a Product Demo mode that shifts focus from your face to whatever you hold up—perfect for YouTube reviews.
Some additional features are a headphone jack, a second tripod socket for vertical shooting, and wireless streaming straight to Canon’s Live Switcher app. The new 14-30mm power zoom lens pairs well, letting you adjust zoom speed for smooth shots. The EOS R50 V lands in April at $649 (body-only) or $849 with the new power zoom lens.
