Leica’s New M11-P Safari Edition

credits: Leica

Leica has launched the M11-P Safari, bringing its iconic olive-green design back for a new generation of collectors and shooters. First introduced in the 1970s, Leica’s Safari Editions are known for their rugged, military-inspired look and this one sticks closely to that tradition. You get a matte green finish, olive leatherette, and contrasting silver dials, along with a silver screw where Leica’s red dot logo usually sits. Internally, it’s the same as the standard M11-P, but with a bolder, more collectible exterior.

Under the hood, the M11-P Safari still houses that 60MP full-frame BSI sensor with Triple Resolution mode, allowing photographers to switch between 60, 36, or 18 megapixels depending on their needs. There’s also 256GB of built-in memory, a UHS-II SD slot, Leica’s Maestro III processor, and support for 14-bit DNGs. It keeps all the mechanical joy of an M-series body too: manual focus, rangefinder shooting, a classic shutter sound, but adds a few digital perks like the 2.95-inch rear touchscreen and ISO up to 50,000.

Leica also includes Content Credentials tech, embedding tamper-proof metadata into every photo, something that’s quickly becoming standard for photojournalists and commercial shooters. The M11-P Safari is priced at $10,495, about $650 more than the standard M11-P.

ACDSee Launched The Gemstone Photo Editor 15

credits: ACDSee

ACDSee just launched Gemstone Photo Editor 15, the latest version of its Photoshop-style editor built specifically for Windows users. First introduced in 2021, Gemstone focuses on layer-based editing, advanced retouching, and RAW support. The newest version leans heavily into AI, offering tools like AI Super-Resolution for enlarging images, AI Sky Replacement, and a new AI-powered object masking system that should make selecting complex subjects faster and cleaner than.

Alongside the flashy AI tricks, Gemstone 15 includes solid improvements for pro-level workflows: non-destructive masking by colour or luminance range, refined selection controls, and better tools for merging photos into panoramas or HDR composites. It even offers AI Face Edit for fast portrait cleanups, and the best part is that all of it runs on your GPU locally, so there’s no cloud processing and your files stay private. That’s a big plus for photographers who don’t want to rely on subscription-based, internet-connected tools.

Unlike Photoshop, which has moved fully to a subscription model, Gemstone still offers a lifetime license for $69.95. That makes it a pretty attractive option for Windows users looking to break away from Adobe’s monthly fees. Mac users, however, are out of luck—Gemstone is Windows-only for now.
