The Latest News:

Sigma Teases New Telephoto Lens

cc: Sigma

Sigma’s CEO, Kazuto Yamaki, recently sat down with Sigma UK’s Tim Berry for an interview covering his favorite photographers, Sigma’s commitment to being “Made in Japan,” and what’s next for the brand. Toward the end, Berry asked for a teaser on upcoming products. Yamaki, smiling, admitted it was a tough question but shared an exciting hint: a new telephoto lens like nothing that’s been done before.

He added that sports and wildlife photographers, in particular, should look forward to it. While he didn’t reveal a release date (or anything else really), CP+ 2025 in February seems like a likely time for an announcement.

Send in Your Canon!

cc: Canon

Canon has joined the trend of offering custom cropping guides for high-volume photographers, like those shooting school portraits. These guides help photographers frame shots consistently, with gridlines for lining up features or fitting standard print sizes like 4x6 or 8x10. At $120, Canon’s feature is cheaper than Sony’s $149 or Panasonic’s $199 options.

However, there’s a twist: Canon requires you to send your camera to a service center for the upgrade, unlike Sony and Panasonic’s at-home installations. The feature is currently only available for the APS-C EOS R50, R10, and R7 cameras—not Canon’s full-frame models.

While it’s a big time-saver for those who need it, the shipping requirement might frustrate busy photographers.

Imagen is now Faster and Better

cc: Imagen

Imagen just launched a new AI feature called “Edit to Delivery,” designed to make life easier for photographers by cutting down post-production time. The tool streamlines the entire process, editing photos to match your style and letting you skip juggling multiple apps.

In partnership with Pic-Time, a gallery platform for showcasing and selling photos, Imagen now lets you send final edits straight to client galleries—no extra exporting or uploading required. You can even use Lightroom Classic for organization if you need it.

According to Imagen’s CEO, Yotham Gil, the goal is to create a seamless “camera-to-delivery” workflow so photographers can focus on what they love: capturing amazing moments. Launched in 2020, Imagen’s AI suite is all about saving time, claiming to cut editing time by 96%.
